About us

The Budja Budja Neighbourhood House is located in the heart of the Gariwerd/Grampians National Park. Budja Budja and Gariwerd are the traditional Aboriginal names for Halls Gap and Grampians respectively.

Our goal is to develop a strong, inclusive and connected community amongst the indigenous and non-indigenous people in Halls Gap and surrounding areas. The House provides a range of programs, classes, and activities for local residents and the wider community.

Like all Neighbourhood houses, Budja Budja relies on volunteers and a variety of long and short term partnerships to deliver our diverse range of programs each year.

The staff, Lee-Anne Lovett and Alison Bainbridge, are excited to plan and consult on ideas on how to better support the Halls Gap Community. Lee-Anne commenced working at the House since 2015 and in 2018 when funding was provided to extend the House hours Alison came on board. Both Lee-Anne and Alison have lived, been involved in community events and worked in the area for many years.

We are proud to be one of over 400 Neighbourhood houses in Victoria.
